How to Fix an Election

The forecast for Election Day 2018 is that a blue wave of Democratic votes could sweep the country. But that blue wave will have to get over the giant red wall that Republicans built in the 2011 Redistricting cycle, by successfully redrawing district maps in over a dozen states. This redistricting — or gerrymandering — was so successful that it lead to more than 200 challenges to voter maps, two that now await decisions at The Supreme Court.

With the potential for landmark decisions coming out of The Supreme Court, this one-hour special on MSNBC examines the current state of gerrymandering - how it altered our political system, how people are trying to fight it, and what the future holds. Some say the fate of American democracy hangs in the balance.
