Election Land

On Election Day, ProPublica and the Google News Lab spearheaded Electionland, a national reporting initiative to track the voting experience across America in real-time.Involving more than 1,100 journalists, the project was one of the largest collaborative reporting initiatives covering a single news event in history and helped identity over 1,200 voting issues and produce 450+ stories. It helped provide journalists across the country with unprecedented visibility into what was happening at the polls on Election Day.


The Documentary Group and director Ted Passon partnered with creative agency, Whirled, on the production of Electionland.
